Sometime back I blogged about an article in the
Seattle Times in which JoeysCoat would be a featured local business that
manufactures and sells “eco-friendly” products for pet lovers.
The article was published on April 22nd. I was in Southern California on one of many
recent last-minute trips south to support my big brother with our aging parent. I saw the article, scanned and sent via email,
but didn't actually get to hold the original until a week later.
The photo chosen to accompany the article is one
of my very favorites. Fiona is wearing a
coat that my dear friend and brilliant designer, Dana Lazare created from a
vintage tea towel made of cotton toile, that I found wandering alone through
the annual Bastille Flea Market in Paris.
It was just weeks after losing Joey and an important distraction made
possible by one of my sisters-in-law.
Photographer Julie Sotomura of PhotoMura Images
caught Fiona’s best “Irma la Douce in a doorway” expression. This along with my little sister-in-law’s
sassy legs made for the perfect shot.
While I’m not absolutely certain how the Seattle
Times learned of JoeysCoat, I have a pretty good hunch, and for this I am truly
grateful.
